Ki Laina hai?

Celebrated Punjabi poet, cultural commentator, critic and translator, Dr. Harbhajan Singh (18 Aug 1920- 21 Oct 2002) was reckoned as a pioneer of the modern Punjabi poetry along with Amrita Pritam. His works include 17 collections of poetry including Rukh Te Rishi and Registan Vich Lakarhara; 19 works of literary history, criticism and biography including Sahit Shastar and Chola Taakian Wala; 14 translated works including those of Aristotle, Longinus, Sophocles, modern Russian novelists, critics and poets, Tagore and selections from the Rig Veda.
I have been reading the creations of Dr. Harbhajan Singh for some time now. I wanted to share some of his lines with all of you. I hope you will like.

Adhi ton bohti,
Usto vee bohti Umar beet gayi hai,
Rabb ne menu te Main rabb nu,
Yaad kade nee kita.
Usnu pata nahi ke main haan,
menu pata nahi ke oh hai.
Kade kadayin bhull bhulekhe,
Ek dooje nu miley sadak te, jhooth vaangra,
Ek dooje nu pithha deke langh javangay.
Rabb ne maithon ki laine e,
Te main rabb ton ki laina.
